Irene from Meghalaya crowned Miss Northeast

Irene Dkhar from Meghalaya was crowned Miss Northeast during a glittering grand finale held at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima on Thursday night.
Vouching for mental peace among the youths as her issue of interest if given a chance to speak with the world leaders, Irene clearly won the hearts of the judges with her confidence and charisma.
She walked home richer with a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakhs along with gift hampers.
In the first runner-up was Eshanee Hatimuria from Assam and second runner-up was Dyna Jomo from Arunachal Pradesh.
They received cash rewards of 1 lakh and 70,000 respectively.
The subtitle winners were: Miss Photogenic – Eshanee Hatimuria (Assam); Miss Perfect Ten – Irene Dkhar (Meghalaya); Miss Talent – Eshanee Hatimuria (Assam); Queen of Hearts – Lika Chophy (Nagaland); Miss Beautiful Skin – Manasha Devi Sapam (Manipur) and Miss Multimedia – Dyna Jomo (Arunachal Pradesh).
This was the first edition of Miss Northeast under the aegis of Northeast Beauty Pageant Organisation and the pageant was hosted by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland.
15 contestants representing the eight Northeastern States including Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland came to vie for the prestigious title.
The panel of judges included Dr. Sagar J Abhichandani, Nise Meruno, Bambi Kevichüsa, Ketholeno Kense Vihienuo and Theyiesinuo Keditsu. The second edition of the pageant will be held in Sikkim followed by Mizoram the next year.
