CorrespondentKohima, Oct 8 (NPN)

An iron water treatment plant and a dedicated library for children and adolescents were inaugurated at GMS Officers Hill, Kohima, on October 8.
Speaking at the event, Ward No. 10 Councillor Kevinei-ü Sekhose expressed pride and joy over the inauguration of the library, describing it as a “treasure house of knowledge” and a space that nurtures imagination and growth. She said the facility would serve as a place of wonder for children and a source of wisdom and guidance for adolescents.
In a world full of distractions, Sekhose emphasised the importance of reading as a habit that fosters empathy, deep thinking, and character development. She encouraged students to make the library their second home and explore literature beyond textbooks, including stories, science, history, and poetry.
She also thanked the Department of Art and Culture for making the library possible and hoped it would remain a space filled with curiosity, joy, and learning.
The programme was chaired by vice chairman of Officers Hill Colony Council (OHCC), Ruokuolhouvo Miachieo. Dedication prayer was offered by Senior Pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, Rev. Sentisashi Aier. Short speeches were delivered by chairman of Officers Hill Colony Panchayat, Khrielakuo Sekhose, and the vote of thanks by Shepo Dzudo.
