Rio pointed out that although the country was making tremendous progress through initiatives like Digital India under PM Narendra Modi, some places like the host village Rüsoma were still in need of better connectivity in the form of Digital Payment System.
He pointed out that in order to let Direct Benefit Transfer systems be more effective, there was a need for better digital infrastructure. BDO also pointed out that 80 to 90 percent of Naga villages were on hilltops and therefore in order to develop the fields which were in the foothills there was need to focus on road infrastructure.
In this regard, Rio urged the visiting guests to convey the challenges faced by the people to the ministry. Team leader of the visiting delegates and joint director, ISTM, Deepak Kumar, in a short speech, highlighted on the need to have a close interaction between the people here and the mainland India.
