ITC Avakhung guest house inaugurated

Minister planning & co-ordination, land revenue, parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kronu inaugurated the Guest House & Marketing Shed at International Border Trade Centre (ITC), Avakhung, Phek district on March 26. The trade centre was constructed by the department of industries and commerce, Nagaland.

In his speech, Neiba Kronu mentioned the significance of the newly established ITC which he hoped would strengthen the relationship between India and Myanmar and improve the economy of both the countries.

However, he said that the success and progress of the trade centre would depend on the people; their participation, extensive utilisation, hospitality and cooperation. 

Referring to India’s Act East Policy, Kronu also emphasised on the prospects of trade with Myanmar. In this regard, he said that trade between Myanmar and Nagaland would open up trade with other South East Asian nations.

He informed that the intermediate road from Lazaphuhu to Avakhungvia Akhegwo would commence soon and that the Washiho cement factory would have more scope. Kronu requested the public to cooperate with the concerned authorities during the construction of road so that the road projects were completed in time.

He was accompanied by public leaders of CPO and Puchory Hoho.
