International University, Nagaland (IUN), located at 6th Mile, Dimapur, will celebrate World Laboratory Day 2026 on April 23 from 10 a.m. onwards at its campus.
Informing this through a press release, registrar Dr. Roopam Bachhil and Director of Vocational Education Prof. Zavise Rume stated that the programme is being organised under the aegis of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science.
The resource person for the event will be Nungsangmeren Jamir, Microbiologist, TB Culture & Drug Susceptibility Testing Laboratory, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.
As part of the celebration, the university will host inter-school competitions to engage students and promote scientific thinking. The events include Extempore Speech Competition.
A poster-making competition will also be held on themes including Myths vs. Science in Healthcare, Fighting Emerging Diseases through Science, and Medical Laboratory Science: The Backbone of Diagnosis. Each school have been requested to send three participants, with posters required to be original and handmade. IUN has invited media representatives, educational institutions, and the general public to be part of the celebration.
