Jacob releases ‘Niuland Pulse’ handbook on sustainable farming

DIMAPUR

Minister of PHED and Cooperation and DPDB chairman, Jacob Zhimomi, launched the handbook “Niuland Pulse: A Guide Towards Sustainable Farming” during the DPDB meeting at DC’s conference hall, Niuland, on June 5.
According to DIPR report, the handbook is a joint initiative of the agriculture and allied departments, sponsored under the LADP programme of Niuland district.
Jacob informed that the goal was to support long-term agricultural growth by providing farmers access to scientific methods, modern knowledge, innovative techniques, and available resources.
He encouraged farmers, especially youth, to explore agribusiness, technology, and entrepreneurship beyond traditional farming practices, emphasizing the importance of a vision-driven approach.
During the meeting, the Power Department presented a report highlighting the state’s increasing power consumption. Jacob urged officials to collaborate with Dobashis and villagers to install smart prepaid meters, ensuring better revenue management.
He described Niuland district as one of the most promising in the state and called for dedication and sincerity from all Heads of Departments (HoDs) in attending DPDB meetings regularly.
The board also approved the renewal of Globe Nagaland Society and a proposal for constructing flat-type quarters for officers and staff.
