Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Longleng organized “Jai Kisan-Jai Vigyan Day” on December 29 at KVK, office premises celebrating birthdays of Chaudhry Charan Singh (December 23) and Atal Bihar Vajpayee (December 25).
The programme was organized to mark their immense contribution in promoting use of science for the welfare of the farming community. At the programme, SMS (SWCE), Dr. P. Chowdhury, explained the contribution made by Chaudhry Charan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpyee for the development agriculture and India as a whole.
He also explained about the different new technologies for enhancing agriculture productivity and profitability and about the aims and objectives of Soil Health Day (SHD), Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG), Saansad Adarsh Gram (SAG), Neem added urea, digital agriculture (Agro-advisory through mobile), national agriculture market (for assuring farmers profit) and lab to land (dissemination of new technology in the farmers field).
Altogether 30 progressive farmers from Hukphang, Lingtak, Namching, Pongching, Bhumnyu, Orangkong and Dungkhao villages of Longleng attended the celebration.
