Jains to celebrate birth anniversary of Mahavira

Jain organisations will be celebrating the 2617th birth anniversary of their 24th Lord Mahavira across the globe on March 29. 
A press release issued by S.D. Jain Samaj Dimapur executive member, Ajay Sethi stated that live and let live was the primary motto of Lord Mahavira which will be reflected in the afternoon procession beginning and culminating at Jain Temple after passing through Jain Temple road-Ram Janaki road- G.S. road- MP road- Nyamo Lotha road- GS road-Kalibari road between 1 to 3 p.m.
Various Digambar Jain organisations viz, Jain Samaj, Mahila Samaj, Jivan Jyoti, Sanmati Mahila Parishad, Jain Ahinsa Samiti, Namokar Yuva Mandal and Jain Yuvak Sangh together visited District Hospital, Blind School and Deaf Biblical Ministry to distribute fruits, juices and edibles.
Many programs are being organised at Dimapur’s Jain Temple, Mahavir Bhawan and Jain School such as cultural show by Veer Kanya Manch, Namokar chanting, morning procession, showering of Lord Mahavira for World Peace, afternoon procession and feast.
It regretted the inconveniences to commuters during the procession and further wished that the year brings peace and prosperity in Nagaland.
