As part of the ongoing Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations (Nov 15, 2024–Nov 15, 2025), awareness and benefit saturation camps were held at multiple locations across Nagaland to ensure government schemes reach tribal communities at the grassroots.
According to DIPR report, at Pughoboto, a camp was conducted on June 30 at the Old ADC Office under the supervision of EAC Er. Keyileuteing Ndang. The camp covered 13 villages including Pughoboto, Ghokimi, Lazami, and others. Various departments collaborated to deliver key services to citizens. District Administration facilitated Aadhaar enrollment and issued ST/IIC & PRC forms; Medical department enrolled individuals under Ayushman Bharat, immunization programmes, and Mission Indradhanush; Agriculture officials supported enrollments for PM-KISAN and Kisan Credit Card (KCC); and Rural Development department took up MGNREGA registrations.
Social Welfare department assisted eligible beneficiaries with pension and maternity schemes, while Food & Civil Supplies department enrolled individuals under NFSA for ration cards. SBI Pughoboto promoted financial inclusion through enrolments in PMJJBY, Jan Dhan, and PM-JAY schemes.
Meanwhile, in Shamator district, outreach programmes under the “Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan” were held at Rürür village on June 27 and Sikiur village on June 28. Organised by the District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti, the events targeted adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers. Health and hygiene awareness sessions were held, and free sanitary pads, diapers, and nutritional supplements like Horlicks were distributed. The programme also assisted mothers in understanding eligibility criteria and documentation for PMMVY registration. Officials visited local Anganwadi Centres to monitor early childhood care services.
At Homeland village under Aghunaqa block in Niuland district, a similar awareness and benefit saturation camp was organised on June 30, marking the conclusion of the campaign in the district. EAC Aghunaqa, M. Khenpa, who chaired the programme, encouraged locals to take advantage of the services brought to their doorstep. Departments from Rural Development, Agriculture, and Health made brief presentations on key schemes. Village Council chairman Kuhoto Yepthomi extended gratitude to the district administration for facilitating access to welfare initiatives for the people.
These camps under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh ensured greater outreach of central and state-sponsored welfare schemes, especially in remote tribal areas, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development and last-mile delivery.
