A three-day youth camp organised by Jalukie B Baptist Church Youth Department (JBCYD) commenced on Friday at Punglwa B Baptist Church, Peren, under the theme “God, Growth, Greatness, Generosity, Goals,” aims to inspire and strengthen the spiritual lives of the youth.
Speaking at the inaugural session, speaker of the first day, Itazaile reminisced about the early days of Christianity, emphasizing how the Gospel of God was spread by the disciples following Jesus ascension. Speaking on the topic “Rampaube Gade Ngngwa ket tei eh kelungh,” referencing Acts 2:46-47, she called upon the gathering to be committed to their faith like the early Christians, who were deeply rooted in their beliefs.
She stressed that God endows every person with a unique talent to preach and spread the gospel, not just theologians. She therefore encouraged the youth to can spread the gospel by using their talent and being committed to Him. She also urged the attendees to emulate the commitment of the early Christians.
She further challenged the attendees to move beyond a lukewarm faith, urging them to actively display the love of God through their actions and speech. The program began with an invocation by Ipungdaube and chaired by JBCYD president Ipungbabe. Special song was performed by Puihungyile and friends and the program concluded with a benedictory prayer by counsellor Tunghube.
