JCC issues guidelines forproposed ‘pen down strike’

DIMAPUR, OCT 10 (NPN)

In view of the proposed three-day “pen down strike” across all government departments in Nagaland from October 14-16, 2025, the joint coordination committee (JCC) on IAS Induction (CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA & NF&ASA) Friday issued broad guidelines for compliance by all associations/departments and employees.
JCC through its media cell stated that emergency and essential services would be exempted from the purview of the pen down strike.
It informed all associations to issue clear and necessary instructions on the issue so the general public was not made to bear the brunt of the Strike.
JCC requested all government employees to observe strict attendance at their respective workplaces.
Further, it requested respective associations to ensure that pen down strike is observed peacefully.
The committee informed that following essential and emergency services would be exempted from the purview of the strike: people working for the maintenance and supply of electricity, water, road repairs, sanitation, medical doctors and nurses providing healthcare, law enforcing agencies etc;
Further, JCC stated that any other services, which respective associations/departments feel should be exempted, could be worked out accordingly.
JCC clarifies on pen down strike: Taking note of certain non-governmental agencies issuing directives against the proposed pen down strike, the JCC has clarified that the strike would be complied by all service associations affiliated with CANSSEA.
In this connection, the JCC has acknowledges the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA), an affiliated body of CANSSEA, for their prompt action in complying with the directives of the JCC.
