DIMAPUR: All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) at its emergency meeting held at the CANNSEA office premises, Kohima, on September 18, has unanimously resolved to form a Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of Pre RTE Teachers.
The committee will be headed Kezhalezo Solo of Kohima as convenor, Chingwang Konyak of Mon district as co convenor, Sherin Keppen of Chümoukedima district as treasurer, along with two members from each district. The JCC will pursue the case with elected representatives and the Chief Minister of Nagaland to seek exemption of Pre RTE teachers from the NTET examination.
It also unanimously resolved to collect and contribute Rs. 1,000 each from every affected teacher.
The meeting was attended by teachers from 15 districts, with the exception of Noklak and Longleng. Altogether, about 600-700 teachers appointed before the RTE Act participated in the meeting.
