The Japfüphiki Chokri Dzevi Krotho (KCDK) has held its first general session cum 3rd edition of late Thevonü Memorial Trophy Tournament at Kimipfüphe ground in Kigwema village, Kohima.
Chief guest and Principal Secretary of Forest Department, NN Zhasa, urged upon the people of the areas namely Japfüphiki (Southern Angami) under Kohima district and Chokri Area under Phek district to pursue a truthful lives so as to preserve the lifestyle of the forefather. Emphasising that fearing God in all aspects is the need of the hour, Zhasa said respecting one another feelings, adopting forgiveness policy and reconciliation process should accommodate in one’s life.
Zhasa has also urged to two communities to preserve cultural identity and promote forefathers rich traditional values adding that such practices would enhance the old friendship relationship in the long run.
He further urged them to build a platform of togetherness and oneness from amongst themselves.
Murohu Chotso, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Phek, and guest of honour, has appealed the youngster to consider games as not merely for competition but endeavour to build old friendship ties.
Maintaining that JCDK is also a revival organization in the form of preserving the forefathers’ friendship relationship which existed even before the separation of Chakhesang tribe from Eastern Angami, he said people of the two communities should maintain a healthy relationship. Unity, peace and friendship should make prevail from among the two communities, he asserted.
A new team of office bearers was also installed for a tenure of four years headed by Kikhwesül Thokhwe as president, Tavehu Thingo as vice president, Vethikhoyi Khamo as general secretary, Netsozü Tünyi as treasurer, Nolvi Sophie as sports and cultural secretary, Tsielie Zhashümo as publicity secretary, Khrieno Khora and Nusakholu Dawhuo as women coordinators with president SASA and CAYSA as coordinators.
Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) has won the championship in both the men football and women volleyball.
