Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) has invited all apex tribal hohos, massed based organizations, student’ and youth bodies, trade/business groups and all civil society organizations for a thorough and threadbare discussion on the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 and ILP/BEFR on February 2, 2019 at Tourist Lodge Dimapur, 11 a.m.
In a press note, JCPI convenor K. Ghokheto Chophy and secretary Tia Longchar expressed regret the inability to send out individual invitation to all.
However, JCPI has requested all responsible leaders of the organisations to understand the emergency situation arising out of CAB and attend the said meeting positively. Given the gravity of the issue, JCPI urged all organisations be represented by the respective president or general secretary at the least. JCPI– a conglomeration of more than 20 CSOs, tribe hohos, and mass based organisations was formed under the initiative of NTC.
