JD(U) state unit appeals NPF

Nagaland state unit Janata Dal (United), alliance partner of NPF-led DAN, appealed NPF to resolve the inner party crisis and “save the common people in the state from chaotic political turmoil”.
In a press release, JD(U) working president Rikhum Yimchunger and general secretary (adm) Elvis Yanthan stated that “NPF should correct themselves/their own house in order and allow other alliance partner to play a constructive role for the benefit of the people in the state”.  Furthermore, during the party executive meeting on January 10, JD(U) said that a resolution was also adopted directing the “leader of the state JD(U) legislative party BS Nanglang to support DAN legitimate leader T.R. Zeliang.”
JD(U) said “the solution lies with the NPF legislature and that the ball is in the court of NPF to avoid any consequences out of this political mess.”
JD(U) has also cautioned that when the Governor was more concerned about development and welfare of the state, he “should not be blamed for any decision made according to the constitutional provision of the land, for our own mistakes”.
JD(U) said it had full confidence that the Governor would deliver justice to the people of Nagaland.
Pointing out that the this was not the time to “counter charge each other”, JD(U) urged all “to take full advantage of the privilege of being the only state in the northeast to be in alliance with the NDA at the centre since 2003.
It also reminded elected members that their role was not only to look after their own constituency but the state as a whole and in the interest of the nation.
