JJM & SBM complete failure in Wokha: Lotha Hoho

Lotha Hoho (LH) has asserted that the programmes such as Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) have been complete failure as far as Wokha district was concerned.
In a statement, LH chairman Mhondamo Ovung and general secretary Tsupon Murry pointed out that as per RTI reply from the PHE department Wokha division, as of May 2023, nearly 40 JJM schemes were implemented and commissioned under Wokha district under the JJM programme. “But it is regretted that the programmes (JJM & SBM) have been complete failures; as far as Wokha district is concerned,” the hoho stated.
LH stated that there were “token project components” such as water tanks, on which JJM slogans and implementation features were written. However, the hoho said that contrary to the principles of the programme, actual delivery of water supply to the villagers (targeted consumers) was almost nil, which, it said was known to all concerned.
Meanwhile, LH has appreciated the constitution of an enquiry committee to probe into the allegations on JJM by the Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy & Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO). LH said that the success story of JJM schemes under Wokha district was almost zero (less than ten percent).
LH and frontal organisations, on behalf of the Lotha public, have therefore urged the enquiry committee to prepare its report as per the actual ground reality of the project implementation status.
