Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Kohima has announced the launch of its Center of Excellence, an initiative to empower young women in the northeastern states of India. This program is part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited.
The Center of Excellence is a specialized program that offers complimentary tutoring services to select female students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) schools in preparation for engineering and medical entrance examinations.
The launch event was graced by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, regional office, Shillong, commissioner Aditya Prakash Singh, assistant commissioner of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Regional Office Shillong, TVS Prakasa Rao, as the chief guest, and deputy vice president of CSR and Ethics at TATA AIG, Devang Pandya, as the guest of honour.
Additionally, P. Khel Kohima Village, chairman also graced the event with other guests from Kohima. All school principals across JNV Nagaland joined the launch programme online.
