The Joint Council of six villages –Tethüyo, Pongren, New Vongti, Old Vongti, Pungro and Jenty– has declared that any individual/group or faction involved in illegal activities against the contractor involved in the construction and improvement of road from 202 to Pungro headquarters would be dealt seriously.
This was resolved at an emergency meeting of the Joint Council held on September 29, 2023 to discuss the ongoing construction and improvement of road from 202 to Pungro headquarters.
The meeting further directed the land owner to abstain from demanding compensation from the contractor.
The council also asked the contractor to work as per the detailed project report, failing it warned of taking stern action.
Finally, the Joint Council announced extending full cooperation for smooth implementation of project for the welfare of general public. This was stated in a press release by council chairman Vongtukiu and secretary Juringmong.
