Japukong Senso Senden (JSS) while extending support to Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) on completion of foothill road, appealed to the state government to take utmost concern and expedite the project without any further delay.
In a press release JSS president Imdongtangba and general secretary Toshisangba also demanded that the project be taken up under NEC programme as resolved by the state government.
JSS said that Nagaland, even after attaining 50 years of statehood, still lacked its own foothill road, which has resulted in untold and unheard hardships by the rural people particularly those living in border areas.
Pointing out that the foothill road would generate revenue and boost the economy of the state and its people, the Senden said people in the rural areas have their own tea garden, areca nut, sandalwood, coffee, cardamom, horti and agri products etc. which are brought to the urban areas.
It, therefore, appealed to the government to take utmost importance on this road project, as it would benefit the people in many ways.
