DIMAPUR: The Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) on Friday carried out a verification drive within the Jalukie jurisdiction to identify and address the presence of illegal immigrants.
In a press release issued by JSUN informed that during the drive, the Union identified 28 individuals with expired Inner Line Permits (ILPs) and 38 individuals without valid ILP passes. The matter was subsequently reported to the District Administration, which took appropriate action in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the interests of the indigenous people, JSUN stated that it remains steadfast in addressing the growing concern of illegal immigration in the region. The Union strongly urged the concerned authorities to remain vigilant and adopt proactive measures to curb the menace while ensuring proper implementation of the ILP system.
JSUN further appealed to citizens and stakeholders to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining law and order and protecting the rights of the indigenous population.
