Jalukie Students’ Union, Nagaland (JSUN) on Wednesday said that it has launched indefinite bandh on community health centre (CHC) Jalukie starting March 16, 2016 as the government has failed to honour the MoU signed with Old Jalukie Village Council during the establishment of Jalukie town.
In a press release, JSUN president Haizin Mpom and general secretary Pehiato stated that upon the health and family welfare department ignoring the consensus candidate of the Old Jalukie Village (landowner), the union served a 15-day ultimatum on the H&FW principal director demanding revocation of appointment order, which was appointed against their recommendation.
JSUN said on the first day of the bandh, the officials from district administration represented by SDO (civil) and CMO Peren intervened for negotiation. However, the union said it decided to continue with the bandh as the matter could not be sorted out due to failure of assurance and commitment.
Therefore, JSUN said the CHC Jalukie under the administration of SHO would remain closed indefinitely. However, it added that emergency ward and ARTC would be exempted from the preview of the bandh.
Meanwhile, the union has regretted for the incontinences caused due to the bandh and requested the public to bear with them. JSUN has cautioned it shall not be held responsible for any untoward incidents.
