JWLCCS holds 9th annual general meeting

Japfüphi Women Livelihood and Credit Cooperation Society Ltd. (JWLCCS) held its 9th annual general body meeting (GBM) on May 25 at Kezoma Panchayat Hall. Speaking at the meeting as special guest, Block Development Officer (BDO) Rural Development (RD) block Jakhama, Vilopi Angami, lauded society’s performance in the last nine years.


He said JWLCCS had been instrumental in bringing several rural and infrastructural developments, thereby creating a positive impact on the socio-economic development of various member villages.
Angami then said that women empowerment and upliftment were keys to the all-round development of a society. Describing women as the “development engines” of the rural areas, he said their contribution greatly propelled society forward. He also asserted that Nagaland being a “rural state”, women play an important role in rural development of the state.


During the meeting, a keynote address was delivered by program manager, Institution Building and Capacity Building (IB/CB) Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Selabeituo Theünuo; gender champion Khrielenuo Seletsu from Nourhe Village Level Organisation (VLO), Pfuchama Village, shared her experiences and activities taken up by her team in their village; key achievement for FY 2023-24 was shared by EC member, JWLCCS, Zayieno Peki; and financial report was given by treasurer, JWLCCS, Beizono Neihu. The meeting was followed by a business hour, wherein presentations were made by CLF BDP & AAP and CEF AAP. The best VLO award was bagged by Kedakelie VLO from Jakhama village.
