K3M band releases debut official music video

Popular Wokha-based band, K3M, released its debut official music video “Children of a lesser God” here at hotel serrano, Wokha in the presence of DC Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, his wife and a select gathering of well-wishers.
Speaking as special guest at the release function, DC Ranjan remarked that K3M’s debut video release may look like one small beginning step for the band, but it was indeed a giant leap for the music scene in the district.
Enlightening the gathering on the music video “Children of a lesser God”, K3M’s front-man Thung R Murry (Thungbemo) said he started writing the song in the third month of 2021 inspired by his personal experiences with his elder sibling, since deceased for long, who was born with a medical condition and therefore a child with special needs.
Holding back tears, he urged everyone to provide more attention to children with special needs. The lyrics of the song “… He struggles to navigate this brave new world/he fights alone/from cradle to the grave/wasted and wounded fighting this battle/too faint to lift his eyes… give him wings to fly/tightly sealed inside his own body/they are the children of a lesser God…” speaks of deep personal feelings for a dear, lost sibling.
K3M, the metal band was officially formed in 2008 though their origin dates back to the years 1996 to 2007 when the present members first embarked on their musical journey together as a tight-knit rock band playing cover songs under the nomenclature Sound Craft.
The band consists of Thung R Murry (Thungbemo) on vocals, keys and bass, Vungshamo Murry (Moonshine) on guitars, Tsenjonthung Odyuo (Sheet) on guitars, and Janbemo Mozhui on drums. S. Mhathung Ngullie as band manager, Nchumthung Murry as media manager, Mhono Lotha (MJ) as costume and make-up artist, and Moyuchen K. Yanthan as producer completes the management team of K3M.
K3M’s genre of music effortlessly blends together soft melodic ballads with the brutal attack of heavy metal/speed metal and Goth rock. K3M has notably performed opening acts for international artistes like Petra’s John Schlitt and Smokie and performed alongside Michael Jackson’s ex-guitarist Jennifer Batten and renowned guitarist Chandresh Kudwa. It’s no wonder that, since its inception, K3M has won numerous titles in district and state level competitions. K3M is also empanelled with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland.
Earlier, K3M band manager S. Mhathung Ngullie appealed all well-wishers to keep on supporting the band while Ovungrhoni enthralled the gathering with a special number. Opening prayer was said by retired DEO M. Rhonbemo Murry while K3M media manager Nchumthung Murry proposed vote of thanks at the short release function hosted by Bailey Baptist College, Wokha vice principal L. Achumbeni Humtsoe.
