Kangana Ranaut Criticizes Zohran Mamdani for Alleged Anti-Hindu Remarks

BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has taken aim at Zohran Mamdani, son of acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair and a Democratic nominee for New York City Mayor, accusing him of harboring anti-Hindu and pro-Pakistani sentiments.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kangana expressed dismay over Mamdani’s alleged views, stating, “He sounds more Pakistani than Indian.” She also questioned his cultural identity, referencing his parents—Mira Nair, a Padma Shri awardee raised in India, and Mehmood Mamdani, a noted author of Gujarati origin.

Ranaut sarcastically added, “On a different note, met Mira ji on a couple of occasions—congratulations to the parents.”

Her remarks were prompted by a resurfaced video, reportedly showing Mamdani criticizing the Indian government and the Babri Masjid demolition while participating in a protest in New York. The authenticity of the video remains unverified.

Zohran Mamdani recently secured a landmark win in the NYC Democratic mayoral primary and is set to face Republican Frank T. Donovan in the general election on November 4.

Echoing Kangana’s sentiments, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi also criticized Mamdani, stating on X, “When Zohran Mamdani opens his mouth, Pakistan’s PR team takes the day off.”
