
Kayaykalp award felicitation program for awardee health facilities for the year 2019-2020 was held at directorate of health & family welfare, Kohima on March 26 with minister, health & family welfare department, S. Pangnyu Phom as special guest.
According to DIPR report, principal secretary, health & family welfare department, Amardeep S. Bhatia said that Kayakalp which means rejuvenation, was an initiative which was launched to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in public health facilities.
He added that the goal of Kayakalp was to incentivise and recognise public healthcare facilities that show exemplary performance in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control.
NHM, deputy director Dr. Manyau Phom said that based on norms and guidelines as provided by ministry of health and family welfare, Nagaland had undertaken the processes and protocols followed by assessment of health facilities for the Kayakalp award.
In his short speech, minister S. Pangnyu Phom said these awards were meant for hospitals with the highest standards of sanitation, hygiene and quality of health care services. Pangnyu also said that there had been a phenomenal transformation in many hospitals particularly those hospitals which bagged the Kayakalp award in the last few years.
He also said that he would continue to provide support to build stronger, skilled and equipped health care workers to provide quality and accessible healthcare services and to build a resilient health system in the state.
