KBC silver jubilee celebration begins

The silver jubilee celebration of Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) under the theme, “Proclaim the year of the Lord” began at NBCC convention centre, here on Friday afternoon.
Delivering the message, founder, senior pastor of the church and principal of Kohima Bible College, Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, recalled how he delivered the first sermon way back in December of 1997.
He encouraged the congregation to rejoice at all times and emerge victorious in the likeness of Christ. He exhorted the believers to fix their eyes on Jesus Christ.
Rev Kiewhuo urged the gathering to overcome evil and standstill in times of challenging times.
He also unveiled the jubilee monolith at the new church site.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant pastor of the church, H RokopraMekro, while greetings was conveyed by Pesocha Baptist Church Council (PBCC) executive secretary, MedoneiuÜsou.
Jubilee theme song was presented by KBC choir, specials songs by The Rubies, AtoNienu and Nerhema Baptist church centenary choir were highlights on day one.
There will be a jubilee concert and talents celebration on Saturday, which will be compered by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu and Aben Belho.
Later in the evening at 3 pm there will be a gospel service with Agapia Social Centre director, Rev Joy Lalsangkima, as the speaker.
Free bus services including picking and dropping will be provided at strategic locations from in and around Kohima for both morning and evening services.
