KC holds Tiranga Yatra to honor Armed Forces

Kohima College (KC), Kohima, organized a Tiranga Yatra on May 23 to show patriotism and gratitude for the Indian Armed Forces’ success in Operation Sindoor. The event took place on the college campus and was attended by students, faculty, dignitaries, and officials from the departments of Tourism and Higher Education.
Minister of Higher Education & Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, addressed the gathering, terming the day solemn and honorable. He explained the Tiranga Yatra, where participants carry the national flag, represents unity, courage, and sacrifice. He praised the armed forces for their dedication to safeguarding India’s sovereignty under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Assam Rifles Pipe Band accompanied the dignitaries, adding ceremonial significance. Students from BA and BCom 2nd and 6th semesters, ministerial staff, and students from TM School participated in the march, waving the Indian flag and chanting patriotic slogans. The procession started at Kohima College and concluded at Secretariat junction, symbolizing the people’s appreciation for the armed forces.
