In view of the upcoming annual Hornbill Festival, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) will undertake a mass social work on November 24, 2018 from 6am till 12 noon starting from Lerie to High School Area.
In a press release, KCCI secretary information & publicity, Henry Chisiite, has requested all traders and business community under Kohima municipality to halt their business activities and down their shutters till 12 noon on that day.
KCCI also requested the general public to co-operate and bear the inconveniences.
Further, KCCI has directed all business establishments along the stretch of the National Highway to paint their shutters, if worn-out, or wash and scrub it clean and sweep the surrounding roadsides and make them dust-free.
Traders have also been requested to fit/put proper light bulbs in the front of their shop/showroom and place a dustbin/waste tin each so as to facelift the Capital City during the Hornbill as well as ushering in the Festive Season.
Traders from TCP Gate till Kezieke (Old Tata parking) have been requested to bring their own bucket and mug to fill water which KCCI would provide to clean the footpath and road.
KCCI also informed all shops, building owners to decorate and beautify their establishments. All vendors setting up stalls at the Night Carnival have been requested to do the same for their stalls. KCCI informed that best decorated building and stall would be adjudged with a cash reward on the concluding night of the Carnival.
To attract tourists and revellers, KCCI said lucky draw and raffles with attractive gifts and prizes would be held during the Hornbill Kohima Night Carnival.
