KCCI to host inter-ward futsal championship

KOHIMA, SEP 28 (NPN): The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) will organise an Inter-Ward Futsal Championship at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground) from October 15 to 17 as part of its 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations, commemorating the organisation’s establishment in 1976.
The three-day championship will be opened to all 19 administrative wards under Kohima Town, with each ward entitled to enter two teams. The tournament is expected to bring together young footballers and community supporters from across the capital.
According to the organisers, the championship will carry a total prize pool that includes Rs. 1 lakh for the champions, Rs. 60,000 for the runners-up and Rs. 20,000 each for the two losing semi-finalists. Individual awards for the Golden Boot, Golden Ball, Golden Glove and Best Coach will carry Rs. 5,000 each. The Kohima Town Club (KTC) will manage the tournament, with technical collaboration from the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA). The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will serve as the official media partner and provide coverage of the championship through print and digital platforms.
Entry forms will be available at the KCCI office from October 1 during office hours, while the last date for submission has been fixed for October 12.
