
Kohima College, Kohima (KCK) organized a farewell program for Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, principal of the college, on January 29, who has been promoted to additional director, department of Higher Education.
A press release by KCK mass media cell stated that Dr. Watijungshi, in his speech, stated that he was the seventh and luckiest principal to have served the college. He said that during his tenure, two mega-events had taken place — the college golden jubilee and the 2nd Cycle of NAAC Assessment and Accreditation, both in 2017.
He thanked the vice principal, Kohima College Teachers Association (KCTA), HoDs, teaching faculty, ministerial staff, students council, and the student community for their support and cooperation.
Dr. Jamir joined the college as principal on July 10, 2015 and served the college for three and half years. Thinuokhrienuo Tsiekhano, vice principal, KCK stated that because of able administrators like Dr. Watijungshi, the college has been lifted to the present prestigious status.
On behalf of the teaching faculty, Moanungla Kevichusa, HoD, English and senior-most faculty of KCK recounted the contributions of Dr. Watijungshi.
Short speeches were also delivered by Paul Achumi on behalf of the ministerial staff and Echi A on behalf of student community.
Special numbers were performed by Sungjeminla, assistant professor English, the Everpresence and the teaching faculty of KCK. The program was chaired by Keneilesa Neikha, president KCTA and HoD History, KCK.
