KDBA conducts open basketball trials for Nagaland Olympic Games 2026

DIMAPUR, SEP 19 (NPN): The Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) conducted open basketball selection trials on Saturday, to identify players for the upcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2026, scheduled from November 2 to 14.
A total of 61 players registered for the trials, comprising 19 female and 42 male participants. Following the rigorous selection process held at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Basketball Court, Kohima, 24 players — 12 men and 12 women were chosen to represent the district in the prestigious state-level sporting event.
The programme began with an opening prayer pronounced by Father Innocent SDB, while president of Kohima District Basketball Association, Khrielasakuo Keretsü and secretary of KDBA, Thejanguzo Pienyü, welcomed and briefed the players before the trials commenced.
The association has announced that the details of the 24 selected players will be made public in the coming week, marking a significant step in Kohima’s preparation for the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2026.
