The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) on Wednesday unveiled its official jersey for the upcoming Dr. T. Ao Trophy 24th Inter-District Football Championship 2025 during a brief ceremony held at IG Stadium, Kohima.
The jersey was officially launched by Kevipodi Sophie, MLA and convener of the organising committee of the championship.
Speaking at the event, Sophie called upon the KDFA players to strive for excellence and to bring pride to Kohima district through their performance. He encouraged the team to give their utmost on the field and extended his best wishes for a successful tournament.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA and co-convener of the organising committee, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima B. Henok Buchem, Superintendent of Police Kohima Teisovise Metha, president of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) Neibou K. Sekhose, along with members of the organising committee, KDFA officials and players.
A prayer led by Pudil Tsükrü, executive member of KDFA, marked the opening of the programme.
The Dr. T. Ao Trophy, named in honour of Dr. Talimeren Ao legendary Naga footballer and India’s first Olympic football captain continues to be one of Nagaland’s most esteemed inter-district football tournaments.
The 2025 edition of the championship is scheduled to be held from August 1 to 15. The tournament is being organised by the Nagaland Football Association, hosted by the Kohima District Football Association, and supported by the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Kohima.
