
Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) organised a legal literacy session on Child Rights for the students of Kiphire district on February 26 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire.
KDLSA also organzied a competition on NSLSA theme song for the Legal Literacy Clubs (LLC).
A press release from DLSA Kiphire, project assistant, Rebica T. Sangtam stated that, resource person Hotingkiu, panel lawyer, spoke on the child rights and urged the students to know their basic rights and laws such as Juvenile Justice Act, Right to Education and Protection of Children from Domestic violence Act.
LLCs from five schools- Cambridge High School Kiphire, EL-Beth High School Kiphire, Saramati High School Kiphire, Agape High School Kiphire and Government High School, Phelungre participated in the competition.
In the competition, EL-Beth High School won the first prize, Agape High School bagged the second prize and Cambridge High School received the third prize. The programme was attended by 88 students and five teachers in-charge for LLC.
The programme concluded with a benediction by Yutsala, para legal volunteer.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Rebica T Sangtam, project assistant and welcome note was delivered by Khiapong, para legal volunteer.
