Bikers of Kohima, gathered at the heart of the town and launched a campaign, “Keep Our City Clean”, that aims to raise citizen awareness about keeping one’s city clean on February 26.
With the theme ‘Together We Can’, the bikers’ campaign ride was flagged off from Razhü point. The bikers’ campaign ride started from Razhü point to PR Hill and culminated at High School junction.
Addressing the gathering, Khriehuzo Lohe, a pioneer of the campaign, said keeping the city clean was an initiative to create awareness on cleanliness with the theme “Together we can”.
He said the initiative was taken to create awareness among citizens. Thanking the Kohima village for generously sharing their land for habitation, Lohe said that in return, it is the citizens’ duty to maintain the city.
He encouraged the two wheelers and taxis to effectively educate the people to keep the city clean as they are all stationed in the heart of the city at different locations. He also urged the passers-by and vendors not to litter the city by throwing waste randomly but encouraged them to maintain dustbins.
