
Kevitsielezo (Gu-u) Phizo, son of late AZ Phizo, from Khonoma village, passed away at his residence, mission compound here Thursday evening after a prolonged illness. He was 66 and survived by his wife Medovino, three sons and one daughter.
Gu-u was a businessman and the second youngest children of AZ Phizo. His funeral service would be held at Ura Academy Hall mission Friday at 12 noon.
CM condoles: Expressing shock and grief over the demise of Kevitsielezo, the state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, said in his demise, Nagas have lost a good soul and the void left by his demise cannot be filled easily.
In a condolence message to Mrs. Medovino Phizo, the chief minister said described late Phizo as “a dear family friend, a thorough gentleman and a man of integrity.”
Stating that late Guu has been a close friend and associate all these years, Rio said his demise was a personal loss to him. “I recall my association with him over the years and found him to be a gentleman who always had love, respect and concern for others,” he said.
The chief minister also said late Guu and his family members grew up under extremely difficult and challenging circumstances and they had to endure great difficulties. The sacrifices made by them will always be remembered by our society for all times to come, Rio said and expressed heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved family.
