Kewhimia Peli no 13 celebrates Sekrenyi

Kewhimia Peli no 13, celebrated a Sekrenyi feast called “Nousihe” at Dzücha Mechüpru, here, Saturday, hosted by Neikesa Peli, D Khel.

All the batch mates numbering more than 100 people from the four khels of Kohima village attended the celebration in traditional attires.

The feast is an annual event hosted in turns by the four khels.

Neikesa Peli is the fifth oldest batch in D Khel, the other four older batches include Kezesanyü, Khriekesa, Phichütakhrie and Suotakhrie.

Neikesa Peli president, Thepfuruokuo Khezhie in a brief interaction said that the feast was hosted in order to keep the spirit of friendship alive among the batchmates especially from the four villages.

He said that it was an age old practice passed from their forefathers. 

The practise was discontinued for sometime however, in order to revive the age old tradition, the same was started again some years back, he added.
