Kezoma Village hosts firstMillet festival

DIMAPUR

The first edition of the Kezoma Village Millet Festival was held on August 30 at Zakie Ground, Kezoma, under the initiative of the Kezoma Village Council, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.
According to DIPR report, Y. Vikheho Swu, president of NDPP Agri & Allied Organisation and Managing Director of Okusa Toyota, who graced the event, highlighted the significance of millet as a climate-resilient crop, rich in fibre and minerals, gluten-free, and vital for enhancing farmers’ income and ensuring food security.
The festival featured folk music, speeches by village leaders, and showcased the agricultural heritage of Kezoma, aiming to raise awareness about the nutritional value of millet and encourage the younger generation to embrace traditional farming practices.
