Khadi Nagi Kehou celebrates golden jubilee

Khadi Nagi Kehou celebrated its golden jubilee with minister of social welfare, security and parliamentary Affairs Kiyanilie Peseyie as the chief guest at Lieva Jotsoma, Saturday.
In his address, Kiyanilie acknowledged the pioneers and said jubilee was the time to remember the struggles, efforts and visions of the founders.
Terming the jubilee celebration as a “big event” for Khadi Nagi Kehou, he said the objective of such meet should be to foster understanding and harmony among the members and also to strengthen relationships with others and help each other in time of need.
Stressing on Khadi Nagi Kehou motto “Standing in the truth”, he urged both the young and the old to introspect and apply truth in their lives.
He reminded the gathering that the jubilee could only be celebrated because of better understanding among the people.
Kiyanilie also encouraged the different denominations to live in the true spirit of “our” beliefs and receive God’s blessings.
Speech of the Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang, who was supposed to grace the occasion as the chief guest, was read out by minister Kiyaneilie.
In his message, Zeliang congratulated Khadi Nagi kehou for attaining 50 years and appreciated the pioneers for their vision in instituting such an organization for the clan.
Zeliang said in Naga society, clan and the institution of Morung play a vital role in educating and orally passing on the traditional values adding that it is the core social structure that has sustained the Naga society.
He suggested the clan to continue imparting Naga traditional values such honesty, respect for elders, hard work, sporting spirit, instil positive values to the next generation of Naga youth so as to have a strong and healthy Naga society.
The programme was led by Nagi clan chairman Nisako, invocation by Rev. Savito, blessing of the jubilee programme by Vikeyienyii oldest man of the clan, jubilee story was shared by Pfiisozielhu, special song by Nagi youth and brief address by village council chairman Golepra Peseyie, jubilee souvenir was released by the chief guest, vote of thanks by Nipusilie and benediction by Rev. Kelhuseto.
Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the monolith of the jubilee and Khadi Nagi resort at Lieva jotstoma.
