Khaghaboto area, Thenyizumi Baptist Church (TBC) and Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo (CYBA) celebrated their respective jubilees and anniversary at Thenyizumi Village, Phek district and Changki village, Mokokchung. Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi graced the golden celebration of Khaghaboto area as special guest on Wednesday.
Jacob graces Khaghaboto area golden jubilee
Khaghaboto area comprising of 17 villages celebrated its golden jubilee under the theme “to take it forward” at Khaghaboto town on Wednesday.
The celebration was graced by PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi as special guest.
The minister congratulated the area for reaching a milestone and acknowledged the pioneers for their contributions and encouraged the gathering to remember them.
Encouraging the students to strengthen their capabilities and capacity to face the challenges, Zhimomi spoke on the formation of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) by the government to encourage competitive spirit among the youth.
He also reminded the students to compete in all India competitive examinations.
Further, the minister encouraged everyone to learn to be self-content in life by encouraging one another so that the society could march forward.
Earlier, the jubilee monolith was unveiled by the special guest after a dedicatory prayer by WSBAK executive Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema. The programme was chaired by Sunito Baptist Church pastor, Shikato.
Rev. Dr Phughoto Sema also released the jubilee souvenir and shared the message.
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation by Akito Baptist Church pastor Samuel, welcome speech by golden jubilee planning borad convenor, Vikato K Achumi, offering prayer was proposed by Xukiye Baptist Church women pastor Inoli Ilitoli, prayer for jubilee committee was proposed by L Hotovi Baptist Church pastor reverend Lujeto Yeptho.
Various cultural song and folk dances were presented by Hevishe Ghami, Khaghaboto town, Ghonivi Ghami, Pishikhu Ghami and special number was presented by Shitoi Ghami and jubilee choir Zukihe Ghami.
Later vote of thanks was delivered by convenor finance committee Vihoto Chishi and benediction by Phuhoto Ghami Baptist Church pastor Kughani Zhimo.
Thenyizumi Baptist Church 75th gospel anniversary

Thenyizumi Baptist Church (TBC) celebrated its 75th gospel anniversary under the theme, “Arise and Shine” on December 26 at Multi-Purpose Building, Thenyizumi Village, Phek district.
A press release by TBC stated that delivering a message in the morning service, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) general secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho stated that 75 years ago Thenyizumi became believers with the certainty of salvation while a “dawn had dawned in the village”.
Rev. Dr. Keyho said 75 years of gospel was a time to count blessings and asked the people to recount and retrospect adding that everyone was gifted with manifold blessings.
He challenged the congregation to “arise and shine” and not standstill but to keep it going forward for the gospel. He added that the gospel of Christ has brought with it the calling and challenge to cast out further.
Rev. Dr. Keyho also challenged the congregation to leave a footprint/legacy standing strong for the cause of Gospel.
During the celebration, greetings was delivered by chairman Chokri Area Baptist Church Council (CABCC), Rev Vevotso Theluo; director Chakhesang Mission Society, Rev Dr Kowepe Kanuo released the souvenir; lead pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church (CBC) Dimapur, Rev P Bonny Resu pronounced the blessings and associate pastor (W), Neshotsulu Thisa read the scripture.
The programme was led by Pastor Thenyizu Baptist Church (TBC), Thepuzhoyi Theyo; welcome address was delivered by convenor of organising committee, Vepozoyi Theyo; senior pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Kitsubozou (CBCK), Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh said the invocation prayer; pastor Pholami Baptist Church, Vezokho Vezhu said the offertory prayer and benediction was pronounced by pastor Kikruma Baptist Church, Rev Dzuthohu Kezo.
The anniversary choir presented ‘Hallelujah Chorus’, while special songs were presented by Thenyizumi Baptist Church Parents Choir and Chetheba Town Baptist Church choir.
Earlier, a dedicatory service was held at the Church premises wherein, Dr Keveduyi Theyo son of first Christian, N Theyo led the service, a song of dedication was presented by Sunday School Choir, Rev Khrotso Mero unveiled the monolith in presence of Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho while blowing of Trumpet also marked the occasion.
Later in the evening, Rev Khrotso Mero, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) recalled the contribution of N Theyo the first Christian Convert in Thenyizumi village and said that the early church had overcome all trials and tribulations however withstood the test of times for faith. He also paid homage and honours to the pioneers.
He stressed on the need to start a mission from home, to further spread out while he exhorts the parents to teach their childrens with the word of God.
Rev Mero also urged the parents to role model in raising childrens in the daily life while he viewed that in the present society, many parents have lesser time for family time yet exhorts the parents to spiritually discipline while he pointed out the ministry should beget from home and have compassion for one another.
He also encouraged the members in attendance to get rid of all evils, forgive one another, humble themselves and live in the likeness of Christ.
The programme was led by C Kroso Kezo, Associate Pastor Thenyizu BC, Vesakho Thisa, Convenor of Resolution Committee who is Director, Children and Education Department, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) led the anniversary declaration.
Special songs were presented by Christian Revival Church, Thenyizu; St Andrew Church, Thenyizu; Thenyizumi Christian Fellowship Kohima and Anniversary Choir.
Zapose Dawhuo, Associate Pastor Chetheba Town Baptist Church read out the scripture, invocation was said by Reduyi Medeo, Pastor K Bawe Baptist Church, Vejuyi Rose Pastor Thipuzu Baptist Church said the offertory prayer, Thanksgiving prayer was offered by H Praneyi Dawhuo Head Deacon TBC and benediction was said by Vesupra Tetseo, Pastor Chetheba Town Baptist Church.
Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo platinum jubilee

Changki Yimlang Baptist Arogo (CYBA) celebrated its platinum jubilee on the theme “Krista Dak Rangben Akangshiba (Fully anchored in Christ)” from December 27-28 at Changki village, Mokokchung.
Rev O Alem who was the main speaker on the second-day for the jubilee programme spoke on the topic “Rangben Akangshiba nung Arogo Teinyaktsu (The Role of a Church in Re-strengthening Holistically)”.
Dwelling on the theme, the Rev. Alem said to re-strengthen holistically, it was the responsibility of the church to look after the congregation both physically and spiritually. He said that the way to heaven cannot be delivered if “we are just a mere Christian instead it will cost us to lose our salvation”. On day two evening sermon was delivered by Professor Alongla P Aier. On day one, Rev Professor Dr Mar Pongener, executive secretary ABAM was the main speaker, who unveiled the jubilee monolith.
