Khamo inspects ongoing administrative projects

DIMAPUR: Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), Kudecho Khamo, accompanied by newly appointed Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE), Er. Ketuoselie Kenguruse, along with CAWD officials, inspected ongoing administrative infrastructure projects in Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts on Monday.
The team, comprising district administration officials, engineers and executing contractors, reviewed the progress of various projects and stressed the need for their timely completion.
In Chümoukedima, the team, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Polan John, inspected the construction of a flat type C quarter for administrative officers at Medziphema. The project began in May 2026 and is scheduled for completion within 24 months. The team also visited the ongoing circuit house construction at Chümoukedima.
At the Dimapur DC’s Complex, the team reviewed the construction of a modern G+2 office building. The project was initially allotted a 24 month period from November 7, 2025. However, dismantling of the old building delayed commencement, resulting in a seven month extension.
The team also inspected the G+3 DC’s Office Complex at Niuland, being constructed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. Deputy Commissioner T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir, along with administrative officers, engineers and the executing contractor, accompanied the inspection.
During the tour, advisor Khamo stressed that timely completion of administrative infrastructure was essential for effective governance and improved public service delivery. He urged contractors to maintain the pace of work and avoid unnecessary delays, emphasising that these buildings were vital for the smooth functioning of district administrations.
He expressed hope that the projects would be completed within the stipulated timeframe, enabling officers to serve the public more efficiently.
The inspection tour aimed to review ongoing projects and assess challenges faced by district administrations.
