Khamo urges monthly cleanliness drive in Phek

DIMAPUR

Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, who is also the chairman of Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), has called for a cleanliness movement across Phek district.
Speaking at the monthly DPDB meeting held at the ADC office complex, Pfütsero, on Monday, Khamo directed that cleanliness drives be conducted in all towns and villages on the first Saturday of every month. He also announced awards for the cleanest towns and villages to promote the initiative. Encouraging departments to take up iconic model projects, Khamo urged officials and stakeholders to work together towards achieving “Viksit Nagaland” in line with the national goal of “Viksit Bharat.”
Highlighting unemployment issues, he said Nagas can succeed beyond government jobs through hard work, prayer, and honesty. Khamo also congratulated Padma Shri awardee Sano Vamuzo, recently honoured with the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Human Rights Award, appreciating her lifetime contributions.
He stressed sincerity and teamwork in fulfilling public aspirations and said leadership must ensure that government schemes reach deserving beneficiaries at the grassroots.
Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA praised Khamo for hosting the meeting in Pfütsero and supported the district’s cleanliness and solar rooftop initiatives. Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, chaired the meeting and welcomed new members.
