Khango-led NSCN (K) has condemned the “midnight/pre-dawn raids” by Assam Rifles on households of its workers and their relatives in and around Dimapur.
Khango-led NSCN (K) through its MIP stated that the “recent instances of the recklessness and disruptive actions” aimed at derailing the political solution was “too appalling” and needed to be reined in.
The group cautioned that the “saboteurs must own full responsibilities” should any eventuality arose in view of the “wanton violation” of Ceasefire Ground Rules by Assam Rifles commanders.
It alleged that the “bellicosity of certain Assam Rifles commanders” in and around Dimapur was creating “a war like situation purposefully to instil fear and insecurity among the Naga stakeholders, discredit the political dialogue and re-establish the militarization of Nagaland”.
Further, Khango-led NSCN (K) claimed that the aspiration of the Naga people and the determination of the government of India to bring lasting solution through honourable political solution seemed to have “become a looming threat to these war mongering elements with utter disregard to the fact that the Indo-Naga peace process has entered the final stage only waiting signing of the agreement any time soon proves that they are fully intended to sabotage the solution.”
Citing instances, the group alleged that the Assam Rifles with the help of anti-social elements and their informants orchestrated and entrapped five of its cadres from the Eros Lane Dimapur on November 22, 2020. It further said that on December 11, 2020 a Major of Assam Rifles raided the house of “lt. col.” Hukheto Aye, a red card holder, in his absence. During the raid, the group said two weapons were confiscated and Aye’s innocent brother, who was sleeping in neighbour’s house, was “illegally” apprehended and tagged him as “our party worker and terrorist” with false and fabricated evidences. It said that such act was a blatant violation of ceasefire ground rules. The group also said that framing innocent civilian even during the war time was violation of human rights.
Stating that the group had ceasefire agreement with the government of India, Khango-led NSCN (K) said that such action by AR was unjustifiable and should be considered “as anti-people and anti-solution.”
