Khiuzinbo FC wins Penalty Shootout

Khiuzinbo FC emerged as the champions of the Open Penalty Shootout held at DDSC Stadium here on Saturday.
In the final, Khiuzinbo FC defeated Thunder Boys to lift the title.
Lungpetsing of Khiuzinbo FC was named as the best goal keeper and Sharon of Thunder Boys as the best shooter.
Altogether 16 teams took part in the shootout.


The championship was organised by Outreach Multipurpose Society in collaboration with Green Succession of Nagaland State (Green-Sons).
Earlier, the opening ceremony was graced by N. Jacob Yanthan, managing director and CEO of Nagaland State Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing Board (NSAPLMB) as special guest.
Jacob, who is also the president of Nagaland Volleyball Association and vice president of Nagaland Veteran Football Association, recalled his active involvement in sports since 1975.
He encouraged the youngsters to take sports seriously as it has open an avenue for those who work hard with dedication.


Chairman of Outreach Multipurpose Society, N. Hachio Odyuo, in his introductory speech, said that the society was formed nine years ago, by like-minded friends on the common principles of uplifting amongst the members and communities with the motto, “Fostering unity and social upliftment”.
He said with this approach, the society has organised the penalty shoot out to encourage youngsters to take sports as career.


Short speech, was also delivered by chairman of Green-Sons, Dr. Jess T. Murry.
The progamme began with an invocation by Z. James Kithan and vote thanks by secretary Outreach Multipurpose Society, Y. Peter Mozhui.
