Following recent burglary incidents, the Khonoma Village Council (KVC) and Khonoma Students’ Union (KSU), after an emergency meeting, have temporarily suspended the entry of ‘door-to-door businessmen’ in Khonoma village.

The move aims to ensure the safety of the residents and prevent thefts, especially during the absence of villagers. Meanwhile, KSU in association with the village Eco-Tourism Management Committee (ETMC), reminded the visitors of the existing protocols: mandatory registration at the ETMC office for all tourists; domestic and international tourists to be accompanied by a local guide; any fieldwork or research required prior approval from the village Bio-diversity Management committee; drone flying permitted only at specific locations and tourists have been advised to not loiter or cause disruptions after 5 pm in winter and 6 pm in summer.
