Khriehu graces special national integration camp

Parliament Secretary, Youth Resources Sports and Music Task Force, Khriehu Liezitsu, presided over the concluding ceremony of Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) of NCC at Patkai Christian College, Chumukedima, Saturday.
Liezitsu, in his speech greeted all the young bright NCC cadets especially those who had come from different parts of the country, describing the cadets from all the corners of the country as mini India bubbling with energy and exuberance.
He also added that NCC has been empowering youth in this country and instilling in them qualities of courage, intelligence, character and leadership.
Multifarious activities were held during the 12-day camp; prominent among them being national integration awareness competition, declamation, solo and group songs and dances reflecting the culture of all states.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and disaster management activities were conducted in and around Chumukedima. Educational visits to Kohima and 37 Assam Rifles unit were conducted for 600 cadets. Sports competitions in basketball (boys), volley ball (girls) and tug of war (mixed) were played enthusiastically.
Khriehu Liezitsu also gave away prizes to best cadets Aditya R. Nath of Karnataka and Goa Dte, Deepika Joshi of Uttarakhand Dte, while best prizes for cultural events were awarded to cadet Dubey of U.P Dte and for group performance to Delhi and Maharashtra.
Prominent and motivational speakers included Maj. Gen Deepak Saxena VSM, of HQ 3 Corps, Maj. Gen MS Jaiswal, YSM, SM, of Assam Rifles and Brig H S Cheema, commander of 44 Infantry Brigade.
The commanding officer of 37 Assam Rifles Ananya Boral, additional director of YRS Neilahoulie and deputy commissioner of Police Dimapur, Dr Ilyas were present during the closing ceremony.
Around 600 cadets of National Cadets Corps (NCC) from 17 directorates and around 100 cadets from the North East Region, attended the SNIC. The said camp was commanded by Group Commander, Group HQ Kohima Nagaland, Brig. MS Nikam.
