
Khulazu Basa Students’ Union (KBSU) held its 62nd general session in Ceküzho, Khulazu Basa village under Phek district on Friday.
The session was held under the theme “Economic empowerment through entrepreneurship”.
Chief Executive Officer, Entrepreneurs Associates, Kohima, Nagaland, Neichute Doulo was the guest speaker for the event.
In his speech, Doulo said the future belongs to those who do business. While pointing out that Nagas cannot do business because they think that they will start counting money once they get into business.
“There is no competition in business, you are your only competitor” he asserted. Doulo went on to say that unlike government jobs, where proxy replacements are rampant, in business the proxy system cannot work. “Work hard to become successful”, he added.
Doulo lamented that parents have the mentality that government jobs alone could secure their children’s future and pointed out that this mentality and culture has to change.
Doulo opined that parents should encourage their children to consider the private sector opportunities as a career choice as well.
He advised students to develop the qualities of hard work, honesty, and transparency to start a career.
He further reminded the students that “No job is demeaning, all labour is dignified”, and also cautioned the students against using mobile phones excessively.
Earlier, Veseta Rhakho, Chakhesang Students Union Dimapur president shared a greeting message; KBSU president Kezhothito Keyho delivered a presidential address; an indigenous tune was presented by Kusalü and Cüsatolü. Village education chairman, Zhovehü Kezo delivered the welcome address.
