DIMAPUR: Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has expressed profound grief over the tragic landslide in Mon district and extended condolences to bereaved families. It conveyed solidarity with victims, affected families and the Konyak community, praying for eternal rest to the departed souls, speedy recovery to the injured and strength to those mourning their loved ones.
The organisation also prayed for the safety and well being of people affected by floods in Mon district, hoping for early improvement of the situation and timely relief for those displaced. On the flood situation in Tuli under Mokokchung district, Kuki Inpi Nagaland expressed concern over extensive damage to homes, public infrastructure, agricultural fields and livelihoods. It extended sympathies to affected families and prayed for their resilience and early restoration of normalcy. The organisation appreciated the Government of Nagaland, district administrations, disaster response agencies, security forces, medical personnel, volunteers, churches and civil society organisations for their tireless efforts in rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations in both Mon and Tuli.
Emphasising unity and compassion during natural disasters, Kuki Inpi Nagaland called upon citizens, charitable organisations and well wishers to extend support and assistance to those affected and to keep the victims and their families in prayers.
YAA: Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) has expressed deep anguish over the landslide tragedy in Mon district on the night of July 19, which claimed several lives, caused grievous injuries and brought untold suffering to families. In a statement, YAA conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal rest of the departed souls. It also prayed for strength and healing for the injured and all those mourning the loss.
YAA appreciated the immediate response of the district administration, NSDMA, security forces and volunteers who have been working tirelessly in rescue and relief operations. It urged the State Government to ensure prompt relief, proper rehabilitation and restoration of essential services in all affected areas.
The organisation called upon the public to uphold unity, compassion and mutual support during this difficult time. It assured full solidarity with the people of Mon district and expressed readiness to extend support within its means.
YAA also appealed to citizens to remain alert, follow safety advisories and take necessary precautions as the monsoon continues.
