Joining the global community, Kiphire district observed “World AIDS Day” on December 1 under the theme, “Know Your Status”, at the Conference Hall of Kiphire District Hospital.
A press release by the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kiphire stated that the program was organised by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Kiphire in collaboration with Nagaland Health Project.
Speaking in the program, SDO (C) Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam, highlighted the need to create more awareness on HIV & AIDS and called upon the younger generation to do their bit educating their parents and those who may be ignorant of the disease.
Sangtam also pointed out that the administration or medical department alone could not shoulder the responsibility of creating HIV & AIDS awareness and called for active participation from different communities.
