Kiphire, Zunheboto hold Sampoornata Samman Samaroh

The district-level Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on July 29 and at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Zunheboto on July 30, under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational District and Block Programme.
In Kiphire, Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer graced the programme as special guest. According to DIPR report, Longkumer highlighted the district’s transformation since being declared an Inspirational District, and called on stakeholders to uphold the spirit of Sampoornata as a continuing mission for inclusive growth.
Acknowledging past challenges, the DC stated that government interventions have focused on uplifting the most vulnerable sections. He urged Anganwadi workers, SHGs and citizens to pursue the mission with commitment.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to contributors for achieving saturation of key indicators during the Sampoornata Abhiyan (July–September 2024), including Asela (AWW–ICDS), Shekienu H. Sumi (JSCO–Soil), GMS PHED Ward Kiphire (Education), Kiukhachi & Sori SHGs (Rural Development), and Ashila (AWW–ICDS).
The event featured a keynote address by SDO (Civil), Kiphire HQ, Rozy Sangtam, with remarks from the Chief Medical Officer, District Education Officer, and Block Programme Manager, Khongsa. A report was presented by Aspirational Block Fellow, Ningsangwu, and cultural performance “HoLo HeLe” was staged by Achumla Jingru and Daniel.
The programme was chaired by EAC HQ & Nodal Officer ADP/ABP, Takatemjen Pongen. Invocation was led by pastor Dr. Bhim Sapkota of Gorkha Baptist Church, and vote of thanks was delivered by Lithsa. The event concluded with the launch of “Aakanksha Haat” at KTC Market Complex to promote grassroots entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile in Zunheboto, the programme focused on Akuhaito Aspirational Block and was graced by MLA of 32 Atoizu A/C, Er. Picto Shohe, as special guest. Shohe expressed concern over the limited progress in the Akuhaito Aspirational Block since the launch of the programme in 2023.
He noted that despite being in its third year, the block has yet to see significant development outcomes. He cited continued basic infrastructure challenges, particularly the absence of bus services and poor road conditions, as key issues hindering advancement.
While acknowledging some progress through government interventions, the MLA stressed the need for more targeted efforts to address fundamental needs and uplift the backward block, which comprises 16 villages and four towns.
Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, in his keynote address, said the programme aimed to honour the contributions of frontline workers and SHGs while promoting holistic development of the block as a model for Nagaland and beyond.
Special performances by Mughato Achumi and Gloria Phuleshe added colour to the event. A PowerPoint presentation on block-level activities was delivered by Aspirational Block Fellow, Kivikali.
Felicitations included District Soil Conservation Officer Junito K. Zhimomi, CDPOs Nikuto Chishi and Dr Gihuka V. Chishi, Medical Officer Gokheli, NSRLM Block Programme Manager Mugholi Jakhalu, CHO of Lokobomi Mugholi, Anganwadi workers Tolika Z. Katty and Nishili (Naghuto), and SHG leader Avini Yeptho (Vekuho New Village).
The vote of thanks was offered by Block Development Officer, Heipeuding Ilunglung. The event concluded with the inauguration of stalls by various SHGs and government departments, showcasing local crafts and developmental initiatives under the programme.
