DIMAPUR: Kohima Law College (KLC) conducted a moot court exercise to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and practical courtroom experience, reaffirming its commitment to experiential learning and professional legal training.
As part of the exercise, students engaged with two moot propositions based on Constitutional Law and Contract Law, preparing memorials and presenting arguments from both petitioner and respondent sides. The proceedings provided a realistic courtroom environment where legal reasoning, advocacy and analytical skills were tested.
The moot court was conducted by assistant professor Kekhriesilie Richa and advocate Teisozelhou Beio, with active participation from students. Through rigorous argumentation and simulated judicial proceedings, students were encouraged to appreciate law not merely as a subject of study but as a living instrument of justice, constitutional morality and social responsibility.
The programme underscored the importance of moot court exercises in shaping future legal professionals capable of balancing legal knowledge with ethics, articulation and practical courtroom competence.
